Here is a reminder... Every day, one can hear and read the words of those who are "apologists" and "appeasers". I'm referring to those who seek to either rationalize or justify terrorism. These words and ideas can be read in newspapers, magazines, books, heard on radio programs and be seen on television. More than anywhere else, it can be found on the internet. Some lay blame upon the United States and Israel for "the world's oppression and tyranny, which lead to the desperation and humilitaion that gives birth to terrorism". Others express their hatred for Americans and Jews. They call for "Western influences to be removed from their land, society, and culture". Many times, these arguments and debates are over abstract ideals and philosophies, which somehow don't truly seem real. As the events of "9-11" fade further into our collective past, we seem to have somehow put the death and destruction of that horrible day out of our minds. For those who did not witness and experience the attacks, first hand, it has become no more than a haunting "video loop", which we wish we never had seen. As such, we avoid the images of that day; The day that so many innocent people suffered and died. This behavior is natural. No one need be blamed for not wanting to dwell in the pain and misery with which that fateful day was so filled. However, from time-to-time, we must be reminded of the reality of what exactly it is that we all now must face. Call it what you may. Rationalize it as you will. Justify it? You cannot... No one can! It can never be justified. There are those will make claims and give excuses... Others will offer expiations and theories... None of it matters, as it does not alter the simple, cold, hard truth and reality that those who commit terrorism are evil murderers and that terrorism is, in of itself, evil by it's very nature. It truly is no more than the pointless murder of innocent human beings, not deserving of such treatment. Those who are willing to tolerate or accept terrorism, willingly choose to live with evil. Civilized men and women will not accept this evil in their world or into their lives. They will rise up against those who seek to terrorize others for political, religious, philosophical or cultural reasons. They willingly stand determined against such forces of evil and will sacrifice whatever is necessary to bring about it's defeat. Surrender will never be an option. Coexistence will never be an option. Appeasement will never be an option. Acceptance will never be an option. Terrorism and terrorist must and will be destroyed, for the sake of all mankind. Nothing less will ever be acceptable. We, the American People, did not ask for this war. However, we will not rest until the enemy is defeated.
